Executive Director

 My passion is to work with youth to provide safe strategies to cope with stress and negative pressure that could lead to use of drugs and alcohol. As a Certified Prevention Specialist, I joined the team in 2016 with a goal to educate parents and the community on how to support the youth in reducing the risk for substance use.

 I am determined to give youth a voice to share their thoughts and work side by side to improve the safety of their world.

As a resident and parent in this community, I want to build lasting impacts for our youth.  I value living in a place with a thriving coalition.

Manager of Training and Special Projects

After nearly 40 years in the printing industry, I was looking for a chance to work with young people. I’d been on the board of a youth leadership camp and I’m the father of five adult kids. I also have six grandchildren. So, you could say I love kids. After retiring as the HVCC Executive Director, I’m thrilled to continue contributing on a part-time basis.

Community Engagement Coordinator

I spent the majority of my academic years studying people by primarily focusing on natural, social, cultural sciences within human sciences. After entering the professional workforce, I carved myself a path that would solely focus on the ‘best interest of our children’. This trajectory led me to obtain my master’s degree in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. In addition to becoming a licensed mediator in 4 different states, I quickly became involved in restorative justice programs, school conflict circles, conflict coaching programs, career mentoring, and finally serving as the Program Director and Mediator for Juvenile Abuse/Neglect/Dependency and Delinquency Court in Charlotte, NC.

I moved 27 times, lived in 6 different countries, and 10 different states, however I am so excited that my family and I chose Michigan to settle in so our children can finally put down some roots. – With that said, I am eager to pour my time, effort and diverse experience into our already strong Huron Valley Community and our youth to further strengthen our collective growth mindset.
